Placed-Based Education for Purpose-Driven Lives
Badze Leshüki was created from the belief that childhood should remain deeply connected to land, wonder, and collective life, while nurturing children to engage critically with the world and grow into compassionate advocates for justice and the common good. Our mixed-age environment values collaboration over competition and lived experience over rote instruction. Children cook, garden, forage, build, observe, create, climb, question, and participate in the rhythms of shared daily life.
Philosophy
We believe children are capable, intelligent, creative, and deeply connected to the world around them. We create a learning environment where curiosity flourishes, community is nurtured, compassion is practised, confidence grows, critical thinking is encouraged, and care guides every interaction, drawing on indigenous knowledge traditions, the Reggio Emilia approach, risky play, Paulo Freire's critical pedagogy, and Christian ecology.
